SmartPower is free for personal use only. If you would like to use SmartPower in a commercial setting then you must purchase a commercial license. Commercial use is defined as:
Installed and/or used on a computer that belongs to, or is being used, in any way, by a commercial entity.
A commercial entity is defined as: a) an organisation or individual that offers a service to other organisations or individuals in exchange for payment; b) an organisation or individual that offers a service to other organisations or individuals and receives payment or funding, from one or more third parties, as compensation for that service.
A commercial license costs £20 and permits you to install and use SmartPower on a single physical computer. Commercial licenses can be moved between computers as required, however they cannot be resold.
The cost of a commerical license is usually recovered (in saved energy costs) within 6 months. For a more accurate estimate, try using the savings calculator.
Please use the form below to request an invoice. The invoice will be emailed to the contact email address. The license key will be sent via email when payment has been received.
Free licenses (for non-commercial use with a Windows domain)
SmartPower detects potential commercial use by checking whether Windows is joined to a domain. If you use a Windows domain on your personal network then you may request a free “restricted commercial license” (RCL).
An RCL is valid for a single named domain and a single named computer. If you would like to use SmartPower on multiple computers connected to your Windows domain you must request multiple RCLs, one for each computer.
Please use the form below to submit your details. You should receive your license within 72 hours.
